English language partner

The topic title is not my creation, I have nothing to do with looking for a language partner.

I'm bored. Nothing for learning nothing for discussing. Just pose niger's slang. I don't like it.

what's the reason for looking for english speaking partner on local forum? google out a forum of your interest in the US or UK and go ahead

Bezonders, believe it or not, there are some issues which you would wanna discuss in an English language community, forum, or blog, not limiting your search down to just Russian-speaking audience (or your specific theme community).

Speaking of this thread's theme, - I am not quite sure if a native English speaker's mother tongue should become a criterion for choosing a partner, especially if you're up to build a serious relationship. If the language matters to you, be prepared to get upset with the fact that your prospective partner will not know thousands of things which form your own cultural background, say, Cheburashka, Leonid Gayday's movies or your favorite songs, – and vice versa. If you can live with that or you believe your prospective partner will be really into learning your Cheburashkas, go for it.

IMHO, it is the whole complex cultural setting that helps you out in getting a language under your skin.

As I have stated above I do not seek a native English as a language partner. For the time being I can do with the fiction books authors as such.

And not claiming my own cultural background to be of universal magnitude and value, I, however, dare hope it goes rather beyond Gayday and Cheburashka.

What I do agree with, is that only "whole complex cultural setting helps you out in getting a language under your skin". No argue here. But as many of us do not have this cultural setting thing at our disposition, we have to invent our own little ways. Some will go straight to an English speaking forum, blog, or IRC server, and it will be but right and reasonable. Some, however, find the abundance and variety of those places and people quite a bit confusing and even frightening. I, for one, can't begin to imagine what I have to say to those people, being an alien for them and they - aliens for me. Of course, if I have something particular to ask, I go and ask (not that it has happened plenty of times, though), but otherwise I don't see myself in an English forum, not now. It may well be I will get there some time, or it may not, I don't really care. What I care for, is to have a place to freely communicate in the language I love with people I like, and that place is our fine forum. So, let us talk, those who think it worth it.
