F.P. Journe Octa Automatique Lune
After all the things we talked about that are very nice about the watch, there also a few things we are less happy about. The big date display does not really do justice to its name. Although it is a nice complication, it doesn’t really pop out of the dial (something you would expect from this kind of complication). Besides that, some numbers on the dial are smaller then others. This makes the dial slightly ecstatically unbalanced (this remains a personal point of view that some won’t share). Having this said, the F.P. Journe Octa Automatique Lune is a beautiful iteration and the watch captures the history and innovative spirit of François-Paul Journe perfectly. Price: 39,600 Euros in Red Gold / 46,000 Euros in platinum.

New Limited Edition Laurent Ferrier Galet Micro-Rotor In Platinum With Enamel Dial
What's more is that not only did LF upgrade the dial here, but they also upgraded the case. The Galet Micro-Rotor is only regularly available in white and rose gold, but here, it is in solid 950 platinum. The added weight is spectacular, and due to the enamel dial, the case back here must be screwed down instead of clipped, requiring the case size to go up to 41 mm from 40 mm. Frankly, I don't think anyone will mind on a watch this special.
For what could be the ultimate rendition of one of the ultimate time-only watches made today? $95,000. Only 18 will be made in total – at a rate of just two to three per year – with the first example being delivered in early December.

Piaget Altiplano Chronograph With Caliber 883P
The movement is Piaget’s in-house caliber 883P. This is a hand-wound, column wheel, flyback chronograph without date. It’s column wheel controlled, with vertical clutch coupling, and it is 12 lignes/27 mm in diameter, under 5 mm thick at 4.65 mm. It’s got a 50-hour power reserve, and runs at a frequency of 28,800 vph. Basically this looks to be the Piaget 880P caliber but minus the date and the rotor and automatic winding train; 880P for comparison is 5.6 mm thick (which gives you an idea how thin the sub-assemblies for both actually are). This is, by the way, also a dual time chronograph; the register at 9:00 is a 24 hour hand, showing a second time zone.

The new blue Glashütte Original Senator Perpetual Calendar & Senator Panorama Date Moon Phase Boutique Editions with blue dials will be available exclusively in Glashütte Original boutiques in Dresden, Paris, Geneva, Madrid, Dubai, Singapore, Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Macau and Tokyo. Prices are not communicated yet but should be close to the other editions in stainless steel with white dials, meaning 19.000 Euros for the Senator Perpetual Calendar and 9.800 Euros for the Senator Panorama Date Moon Phase.
