The band who are in the midst of a sold out North American tour, will perform for the first time with their new lead singer, J.D. Fortune, who won the coveted role of stepping into the void left by the late Michael Hutchence in last year’s wildly successful TV show Rock Star: INXS.
With a career spanning 25 years, INXS are undoubtedly one of the world’s greatest rock’n’roll bands. With more than 30 million records sold worldwide, countless awards from their peers and fans, platinum certification and a history documented with outstanding achievements, INXS are arguably Australia’s most successful rock export.
In 2005 the band announced their plans for the television series “Rock Star: INXS”. The band searched 20 cities across the globe for their new singer using an “unscripted drama TV series. Aired throughout 50 countries, the 11-week television event racked up top viewing figures in the US, Canada, UK, Australia and Asia.
Upon the show’s completion in September 2005, INXS re-emerged fronted by Canadian J.D. Fortune, and released their critically acclaimed single ‘Pretty Vegas’ via Epic Records - INXS’s highest ever Billboard Chart entry. This was followed INXS’s ‘SWITCH’; their first studio album since 1997’s ‘Elegantly Wasted’.
