does it make any sense to practice with the amateurs?

Bezonders, well, to talk, one has to have something to talk about, not just someone to talk to... most of us are well past the age when "talking for the sake of talking" makes any sense at all. And whatever topic you happen to choose, there will always be a sh*tload of forums out there with helluva lot native speakers for you to be made sport of
What would probably make sense here, is talking about how to learn a language. At least this is what you all "talking-for-the-sake-of-talking" fans are really interested in, right?
Wow, wow, wow, fancy English professionals don' wanna talk with poor ole' Bezonders. Send 'im to those great forums out there to be eaten up by them haughty native speakers. Don't see any sense in a little of small talk now and then.
Well, now, as to the question of how to learn a language, is not talking the best way there is? And it certainly seems so there's quite a number of people here who do see some sense, howsoever obscure, in plain "talking-for-the-sake-of-talking". Checking the "Offtopic" section might prove demonstrative.
Anyway, it's up to onlineers to talk or not to talk. I don't know for sure whether 'tis nobler in the mind to cherish the skills and arts of own noble nature, or to give them out all, and thus to share. To talk, to speak, no more, just that. For in these talks some sense may come!
PS if you want to talk with simple folks of your own kind, join irc.by #english, and start talking

Bezonders, it's not "talking-for-the-sake-of-talking" what you see in the offtopic sections of most forums. It's more like "talking-for-the-sake-of-dating" or "talking-for-the-sake-of-showing-off" or "talking-for-the-sake-of-having-something-to-do-so-as-not-to-do-what-one-is-supposed-to-in-the-office" or all of the above. The reason I like onliner is exactly that there's more knowledge exchange and less idle chat (or shall I say "flood and flame") than elsewhere on the 'net. Language is secondary. If I am stuck having stumbled upon something really important in Finnish and failing to get helped out, well, try and go learning Finnish is what I'll be up to
Disclaimer: I ain't no professional. I am just an ordinary language user, probably with a bit of a "delighted amateur" to add to this
spacewanderer, I got your point. Thanks for making so abundantly clear (and in impressive English too) why you personally don't want to talk here.
To whom it may concern
If there is any soul of the other way of thinking - you let me know!
What a wonderful idea "English language partner"!
Thanks to Bezonders I found this reference. I am very bad speaker and I have so much mistakes (but I am learning grammatics).
Please don't forget this topic.

My best English practice was in the US last summer but that practice killed all British English grammar that I studied at school. So now I can speak English with light accent, but Testing I failed Americans says that I have good English when I call them.
